Hopefully my Jelly Parfait with Nicey Jane will be back from the quilter soon, and I'll actually be able to report a finish.

Well that should do it. Sorry for no pretties, but it is my birthday today, and Carrot Cake is calling. I'm sure you all understand.

Sunday Stash Wk. 2

Well I've still been a busy bee with all the sewing. I have the top finished for my Plume quilt finished, but I can't show it to you, because I'm toying with the idea of publishing a pattern for it. I'm really proud of how it turned out, and think that it is a versatile pattern for many different fabric ranges.

That being said I did purchase 3.25 yards of Full Moon Forest (one lonely bolt left in the store) to add to my scrappy backing for the plume quilt (I needed nearly 6 yards total for the back. This is the print I used:
Since I can't show you my plume quilt yet, I thought I'd show you another quilt top I finished in the last week. Although I can't take complete credit for the design (I've seen many quilts along these lines), I did do all the piecing without directions. It is made from one Jelly Roll of 1974 by Urban Chiks for Moda, and a whole lot of Kona Coal.

I really love this quilt, and it ended up 67"x95"!!! Thats like a dorm twin! I think I will try some free motion quilting on this one, but not until I take Cindy's class next month. I feel like I'll need a support group for this puppy!

Well that about sums it up! I hope everyone has a great week!!!

Ok...this is scary. I have WAY more projects than I thought I did, and this is not including the still unfinished projects from when I started quilting (I was 8 years old). This is also not including all the fabric I have just because. Yikes. Help.

Sunday Stash wk 1. Plus: I have been sewing up a storm!!!

So...I graudated from college in December. Since then, I've been having a hard time adjusting to my new found free time. I've been a student my entire life, and now that I don't have homework to do, I have been looking for things to fill that space.

So...what have I been doing?! Quilting, that's what!

Our house is under construction right now (major remodel), so I have been sewing primarily at the store. Thankfully Kathy (the owner) has been kind enough to let me sew during un-filled classes, and when the store is closed.

Basically I live there.

So, in honor of my renewed dedication to this blog, I will have projects to show you all week. Also, today is the first of a new tradition of Sunday Stash!!! I have more fabric than I know what to do with, and I think this will help inspire me to use it.

Also, I hope to start participating in WIP Wednesdays, so that you guys can help keep me in check. I will list my projects; the ones that need to be pieced, and the ones that need to be quilted. It will be your job (*wink wink) to pester me and make sure I finish them.

My first project that I finished this week was my Meadowsweet 2 quilt. I used a pattern from Heather Mulder Peterson's "Livin Large" book. I had a lot of fun putting this together, but I had more fabric than I needed so I may have to find another project, or maybe (*gasp*) sell my scraps! We'll see what happens.

The Quilt:

And now, if you've stayed with me so far, it's time for my first ever Sunday Stash!!!

This week I broke down and bought fabric that I've wanted A LONG TIME. I spent WAY too much on it. It is none other than the OOP Moda Neptune by Tula Pink.

Lets all just take a moment and appreciate it's beauty.

Yeah...I know.
Have a good week everyone!
